Corixa's latest PR Workshop

Those that can, do. Those that can’t, teach. So runs the decades-old mantra of the anti-education brigade. But for a bunch of know-alls, they’re singularly silent on the subject of those that both do and teach.

Like Laura and Louise, for example. They recently ran a PR workshop at Goldbrick House in Bristol to help those working in creative industries in Bristol to understand how PR can work for them, and to give them a helping hand with developing some of the basic tools. The session included an overview of planning and developing a relevant strategy, identifying target audiences, and developing media messages. Finally, it was back to brass tacks when attendees were asked to develop a press release based on their own company news.

It was really encouraging that a variety of businesses from TV production, to design and digital, were interested enough to attend. The feedback was really positive. Thank you to everyone who attended!

This is third seminar we have hosted over the last year. Back in the summer we put together a seminar for businesses wanting to understand more about the use of digital and social media and how to integrate these new media channels and tools into their current marketing strategy. We also hosted a free half day workshop session for clients on the same topic, at which delegates had a chance to really explore the use of wikis, twitter, forums and blogs.

There’s a real revolution in the fact that now we’re all publishers of our own content. Anyone who sets up their own online blog, joins a discussion, or tweets information via twitter can be heard by a waiting world. And more than ever before, the quality of the content will determine whether anyone is prepared to listen.
