Melanie Greenwood, Editorial Services Manager
A regional press journalist for almost 20 years, both as a news reporter and a features writer, Melanie is Corixa's Editorial Services Manager.
During her career she has covered court cases, reported on local government, health and social issues and has specialised in many different fields including travel and family matters. Whatever the subject, her abiding interest is that of the person, and what makes them
tick. Her reporting has often encompassed difficult issues that some journalists would feel uncomfortable sitting alongside; Melanie's natural charm and easy way, combined with an inquiring nature, has brought out the best in the people she has interviewed and led to a host
of exceptional stories that have been praised both by readers and the subjects of her interviews.
As a journalist with long experience of working with PR companies, she knows what sells a story and, perhaps more importantly, what doesn't.
Melanie is also health and beauty editor of a large regional magazine.
"Good PR should look effortless," she said. "Most journalists are pressured by time, and aren't always the easiest people to establish good working relationships with, but if your story is good, your pitch is strong and you're persistent without being pushy you will find that you're taken notice of. Get this formula right and you'll carve out effective PR time and time again."
